Sounds ominous, doesn’t it? 🙂 Well, don’t be alarmed–Bernice and I are just trying to escape construction noises. She’s sleeping, and I’m obviously doing this blog, after which I will work on the new book, “Big Sky Secrets”. The story of Landry Sutton and Ria Manning, this novel is the final one in the Parable/Three Trees series. There may well, however, be one or more Christmas stories in the future, historicals featuring the characters’ ancestors.
The soap-making experiment went rather well–one is shaped exactly like a horse lying down, with its legs tucked under. I’ll be making more of those, to be sure–very impressive, though I’m sure some people will be reluctant to actually use the soap. 🙂 I’ll probably be giving most of my sudsing creations as gifts–it’s so much fun to choose the color and scent, but the actual process, as previously stated, is ridiculously easy. I simply melt a hunk of soap in the microwave, in a large measuring cup that makes pouring easy, add whatever, stir with a craft stick, and carefully pour the mixture into the mold. A light spray of ordinary rubbing alcohol will help prevent bubbles–not sure where I picked up that little tidbit, but it works. There are literally thousands of molds available on both etsy and eBay, and many of them are downright exquisite–I recommend the silicone kind, because it’s so much easier to get the soap out after it hardens.
Artist trading cards are still my main passion, hobby-wise. I’ve been buying the Liquitex spray paints lately–they come in the same delicious colors as the acrylics do, but go on smoothly, without leaving brush strokes. I LOVE them. I keep joking around with the crew that I’m starting a second career in Graffiti–my slogan will be, “Down With Vandalism!”
Just kidding, of course. 🙂
I’ve been taking mega-doses of Vitamin C, trying to hold another flu bug at bay. Yikes. I don’t have TIME to be sick.
So, it’s off to storyland.
God bless and keep you, now and always.
