Inspiration Behind WHERE THE CREEK BENDS

I’m excited about the December 31 release of my new novel, WHERE THE CREEK BENDS.

Like many of my previous books, this one has a Western slant, but it’s a bigger and more expansive story than I have ever written before.  And there’s an element that might surprise you—in a good way.

What inspired this particular story?

Like most of my books, it began with two characters, Madison Bettencourt and Liam McKettrick, and a situation.  My stories tend to be organic, one incident growing naturally out of another, and while love is a major part of the tale, there are lots of other things going on.

As I wrote the book, back in Spokane, (I now live in the San Diego, California area) I drew on my love of horses, dogs, and the kind of close-knit community I grew up in, where folks were always ready to jump in and help when someone suffered a loss.

WHERE THE CREEK BENDS is a celebration of love, of friendship, of integrity and small town/country communities, where people truly care about each other.

I can barely wait to hear what you think of this book!
