One day more!

Believe it or not, I am on the homestretch with “Big Sky Summer”, and it feels great!  (Even though I suffer from a form of empty-nest syndrome when my characters leave home. 🙂 )  I’ll be drafting the final chapter today, fleshing it out and giving it a polish tomorrow.  Then I plan to slow down a little, do some art, read or listen to books, shop a little, probably–but my mind is already way ahead of me, weaving the next story, “Big Sky Secrets”, so I’ll be brainstorming the outline through the week and starting the book next Monday.  Those of you who have read the previous books will recognize the heroine–Brylee Parrish, the jilted bride from “Big Sky Mountain”–but the hero is an entirely new character and I don’t want to introduce him yet.  Call me mysterious!
Congrats to the winners–everybody else, hang in there!  Keep the comments coming.  I’ll be giving away three autographed books next Wednesday, as usual, and the question is, “Who’s your favorite cowboy?”  They can come from TV, the movies, books, or real life.
Our weather is sort of gloomy, but in a good way.  🙂  (As in, it’s not a hurricane.)  I just turned on my happy-lamp, and all is well.  (Except I could really use some breakfast–unfortunately, nothing sounds good.)   My prayers are with those of you who find yourselves in Sandy’s path–may God bless and keep every one of you.
Are you ready for Halloween?  Don’t get trick-or-treaters out here in the country, but I always buy candy just in case.  🙂  Your comments and stories brought back so many memories, especially the way those store-bought masks made your face sweat.  Yuck.  Occasionally, Northport was blanketed with snow over Halloween, and we really hated putting coats on over our costumes.  Mom made many of our outfits–a really cool witch get-up comes to mind–but I remember those masks, remember being a hobo one year.  I was a renegade from the first.
Better get to Parable before a riot starts up or something.  🙂
Be well, be safe, and be kind.  Choose the gentle word.
