Here’s Wendy with one of the dolphins I wrote about yesterday–I’ll be posting other pictures as we go along.
As I write this, Button, my 20 year cat, is on my lap, doing his best to keep me from using the keyboard. 🙂 He’s a lovey old guy for sure, and he sure likes attention. When I meditate mornings and evenings, he’s always there to help out.
Yes, I have finally managed to get into the meditation habit, and I can’t say enough about the benefits. At first, it was really hard to sit still for 30 minutes–as many of you will recall, I have a walloping case of ADD–but now I actually look forward to the experience. I’ve been practicing pretty much every day now for a couple of months.
I’m almost at the end of The Course In Miracles, too. Took me the better part of two years, but I was in no hurry to be finished. I plan to go back through it again, this time using some study guides I’ve been keeping on hand for the purpose. And I’m on Day 74 of the 40-Day gratitude journaling project I told you about a while back. (For more information, see Melody Beattie’s book, “Making Miracles in Forty Days.”)
Here’s one thing I’ve learned about miracles: they are not necessarily spectacular, parting-of-the-Red-Sea, burning-bush type things. Often, they involve a simple shift in the way a person thinks, a reminder, a sudden idea. I don’t know about you, but all my life, I’ve thought of miracles as huge productions with casts of thousands, and I think I’ve overlooked plenty of them along the way. One more reason why it’s a good idea to keep a gratitude journal.
🙂
